Mood: Excited 😁
I had a great visit with my surgeon today! Matt & I actually made him smile, which can be difficult at times, but this was a happy visit. I need to recover from chemo over the next 5 weeks, and then we are on to the next step….breast reconstruction surgery on November 14th! He said the surgery will be easy, will take about 2 hours and the best news for me….no drains this time! I am sure I looked scared because he said, “If I’m not worried, you don’t need to worry, and I am not worried at all….again, this will be an easy surgery!” I said, “Sure it’s easy, for You!” 🤣 💕 😁

Mood: Nervous 😕
I met with my radiation oncologist today for the first time. She was very kind, knowledgeable and she explained everything to me. I will have quite a few treatments, 25 to 27. She assured me that she works very closely with my other doctors, in fact, she said she had just met with them and discussed my treatment. She said “I told them that I had to go and get to the office to come see you!” I will see her again 3 weeks after my surgery to start planning my treatments.

Mood: Nervous 😕
My pre-op appointment went well this morning. I can’t believe that my surgery is only 8 days away! The nurse explained the surgery to me and had me sign all of the paperwork. They checked my blood pressure, took my temperature and discussed after care. Ready or not, this is happening!
My hair, eyebrows and eyelashes are starting to grow back. It’s so strange watching my eyelashes grow, just tiny little hairs popping in here and there through my skin, and they are light colored like the hairs on my head so it’s nearly impossible to take a picture to show you at this point.

Mood: Terrified 😣
My third and final surgery is tomorrow morning at 10:30am. I am having reconstruction done on my chest and I am also having my port removed. I am nervous, but I know I have the best surgeon in the world in Dr. Schwartz. My surgery will take 2 to 3 hours with about an hour in recovery.
