Home from Taxol #6

Mood: Exhausted šŸ˜”

We are home from my Taxol #6 treatment!

Before each treatment I am weighed, my blood pressure is checked, my temperature is taken and they take 2 vials of blood so they can get certain levels that they are watching to indicate how well I am doing during chemo. Today my vein that has always been so reliable, decided it had enough of being poked every week since May. Luckily I have plenty of other good veins to stick so she was able to go to a different one. But it made me realize just how many times I have had my blood taken since this journey startedā€¦.it is astonishing!

My oncologist said that overall I am doing really well with my treatment, so that is excellent news. I have managed to avoid some of the nasty side effects that come with chemo such as nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, food tasting like metal or dirt, neuropathy, etcā€¦ It is so true that each cancer patient is different in the experiences they have during treatment. There are several factors that can dictate how well or how poorly treatment is handled by the patientā€¦age, overall health, mental health, just to name a few.

My treatment went well today but I am very tired and ready for some rest. I did get an additional med to help with my being so fidgety from the steroids during my treatment and it worked!

I also got a prescription for a med to help me sleep, if all goes well I will sleep tonight and I will be well rested tomorrow for the first time in about 3 weeks.

Awesome shirt I found in the shop at the hospital!
